Who wandered in the country
A histrionic valet
Who stuttered while performing
A consumptive hypochondriac
Who died in a blood bath on the stage
But by god can he make us laugh
No idiosyncrasies whew beyond his notice
Four centuries on
He is as acerbic as he was
Human nature he could decipher
Showing us the twisted inner trails
Behind the mundane hypocrisy!
