NaPoWriMo 2017
Flights from my terrace
Willingly or not
The year passes by
With Autumn well settled
Clear sky, bright days
My favourite season
A crisp energy fills the air
Galahs have returned
Lazy Blue tongue lizards
Catch the last of the heat
Sunning themselves
On the sandy track
The wind desultory plays with the washing
A late butterfly hovers above
Searching for an elusive nectar
The only murmur is that of the chimes
Broken by the geese honking
A lost dragonfly sways in the air
Seeking a mate
Dog on my lap
In the rocking chair
Time has slowed down
So many flights from my terrace
The sun lightly brushes us
Before passing over the roof
Leaving it in the shade.
