Eagles

Eagles

On our way to town
Three eagles were feasting
At a road killed banquet
Two kangaroos have been killed
By speeding idiots no doubt
We stopped the car
Disturbing their feast
Opening, flapping their wings
They rose away in the the clear sky
What majestic beasts.
They were at it again
On our way back
And flew away once more
To take refuge
In the old dead eucalyptus
Stuck in the middle of the paddock
Waiting for us to pass
Before resuming their meal
Nature doesn’t like waste!

Fighting rams

The fighting rams
What a shock it was
To hear in the predawn
The cracking noise
Of two rams fighting
Time and time again
Without pause
One wonders
What is does to their shaken brains
How their skulls do not fracture
What a waste of energy
That stupid dedication
To eradicate the other
From grazing ever again
Reminds me present human behaviour
In India,  Nyamar, and Palestine
Really, we are but animals!

India’s folly

You need to stop this
NOW!
I don’t care ,
I don’t want wish to know
What creed you follow
What cast you belong to
What colour is your skin
What book you swear on

All falsehoods!

The only way out is
Remember your humanity
We’re all humans
Every one of us
Deserves to be alive
To live peacefully!
What you could do yesterday
You can do it today!
Please stop this carnage,
This senseless destruction,
This folly.

Pandemic

Pandemic
Pandemic or not?
That is the question
The answer is
We shall see
2020 is certainly turning to be
A year of challenges
From personal
To societal
To universal
It keeps rolling
It keeps rocking
It keeps throwing
Curve ball after curve ball
A year to remember
A year to hold on tight
And still foolish mankind
Is carolling pretending
Nothing is happening
It’s business as usual
Systems are cracking everywhere
People  are hurt
People are dying
There’s more than a pandemic!

Dawn

Dawn assignation

Alice revisited

Alice revisited

As the red queen said
“Off with her head”
The surgeon said
“Off with her breasts”
Oh Why? why Alice
Did you follow
The white rabbit?

Bread and butter

Bread and butter

A snip here, a snip there,
Some stitching up,
Apply bandage
Pressure the wound.

There’s no love
Just hard cutting skills.

No motherly kiss
To make it better.

Right, I am just
Your bread and butter.

No more...

No more...

They really are underrated
You know double mastectomy
Let’s see : you get
No more mammograms
No more ultrasounds
Immediate loss of weight
For a minimum knock out time
No effort required on your part
That’s a win-win, no?
No more anxieties
About new lumps detected
Serious economy
No expensive bras anymore
No more wiring structures
Bitting cruelly into your flesh
No more elastic bands tearing it
No more shoulder and neck pain
Seriously improve arm blood circulation
No more antsy and numb hands to wake up to
In the middle of the night
Freedom of movement
To run again like the child
You once were
Don’t hesitate to take up Charleston
For now you have the perfect flapper gorge
Do not forget those gorgeous kimonos
Made of shimmering silk
Think about all those fabulous dresses
You couldn’t have a hope in heaven
To get in yesterday
All those blouses too small in the chest
You kept for years in the bottom of the wardrobe
And the best but not the least
When I hug you
You’ll be nearer my heart!
I’ll stop there ‘cause
It’s a beautiful thought!
