Eagles

Eagles

On our way to town
Three eagles were feasting
At a road killed banquet
Two kangaroos have been killed
By speeding idiots no doubt
We stopped the car
Disturbing their feast
Opening, flapping their wings
They rose away in the the clear sky
What majestic beasts.
They were at it again
On our way back
And flew away once more
To take refuge
In the old dead eucalyptus
Stuck in the middle of the paddock
Waiting for us to pass
Before resuming their meal
Nature doesn’t like waste!
