Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall
Collecting Fabergé eggs
Of gold, pearls and diamonds
While his hens forced to lay eggs
Had no grain to pick on
The war came on
Penury followed
The wall collapsed
Humpty Dumpty
Had a great fall
Laying on the ground
Shell all cracked around
Among the scramble he was
Trampled upon by his troops
Too happy to feed on him
Noting gleefully
‘One can’t make an omelette
Without breaking eggs’
Nicking the fabulous Fabergé eggs
In their deep military pockets.
