Albatross

I would spread my wings
Like the Albatross of old
And fly away above the oceans
Leaving behind the continents
I would soar in the storms
Without any respite nor repose
For amusement I would follow
Playing frisky dolphin pods
And disappear on the high horizon
From the deep blue of the South Pacific
To the green waters of the China sea
I would criss cross the milky sky
Listening to the haunting song
Of the humpback whales
Searching for their mates
Once tired I would fold my wings
And rest , rocked gently to sleep
By the swelling waves.
