#TSL PANDORATHON 6/5
When bookmarks slipped out of books at night and praised their books.
Dear bookmarks,
We are all gathered
Tonight to remember the passing
Of one of our comrades.
When he couldn’t cope
Any longer with the gore
The bloody guts, the rapes,
Tortures and crucifixions
Contained within DAMASCUS
I have the sad duty to tell you
Comrades, my friends here
He plunged himself
Willingly in the apricot jam
Making sure to put an end to his career
Yes, my friends
He committed suicide.
He didn’t need too
He could have fly,
Like our friend
Who posted herself
“ Par Avion/ Air Mail”
To an unknown destination
For she couldn’t continue
Her journey through
The plotless adventures
Of the Invisible life of Addie LaRue.
Let’s have a moment of silence
And reflect on the deep commitment
That is our responsibility
To accompany our readers
Through their reading odyssey
And never, ever give up,
Supporting them through the emotional traumas
They might experience
And never, ever forget
The next book has to be different.
