Quiet bush life

If you think bush life is quiet
You may need to review your opinion
From morn to dusk
We are busy
As dawn points cocky duty
Calls us in the orchard
If we wish to have some fruits
To eat eventually
Early morn sees the coop open
Spotting flying eagles is a rigorous sport
If we wish to keep our chooks alive
Plants and veggies
Need serious watering
And severe pest eradication
From dusk to dawn we are busy
Black wallabies have to be kept away
From munching on the fragrant roses
Possums have to be deterred from the veggies beds
Fruit bats to be detoured from raiding the orchard
Night Foxes denied access to the chicken coop,
Oh let me go back to the mindless slumber
Of a suburban garden!
