I never thought

That the day would come

When demagoguery would take over democracy 

I never thought that 

I would see the day

When Albion the proud

Would rock the boat

So #Brexit it is,

When is English to be taken off

The official European languages list ?

As soon as possible I say!

So #Brexit it is,

You wish to exit on your own terms,

Europe says no need to wait

The door is open, 

Walk out and quickly shut it .

 EU is tired of the unending 

Dragging of feet

For the not so United Kingdom

Since joining Europe

Never played fair

Kept its own currency

Was miffed that the legal system

It forced on three quarters of the world

Was dismissed without a single regret

That its vote counted for one voice

And not the usual four it pulls

That is democracy, my dear!

When you allow demagogues 

In your party to be heard

Beware of the result

Watch out for the three words slogans:

Stop the immigration

Trickle down effect

Cut the taxes 

(Of the rich)

Reclaim our country 

Open for business 

 Plan we have

Secure the borders

Keep them out!

The list is long

Seemingly solving every problem

Appealing by its simplicity 

You know you have to be careful

For who you are voting

For surprising as it may seem

Your vote is counting 

That is the rule

So Oz beware
