Waiting on the Tarmac for lift-off
Screaming child thankfully quiet
I'm certainly grateful for it
Flight slightly delayed
Waiting to get the go ahead
From Control tower
Seeing the Virgin plane take off
Then the Jetstar one turning on
The main runway
It is always beautiful to see a plane
Taking to air
The rain starts pelting the windows
Slowly we are taxing into position
The acceleration pushes us
Down into our seats
We are in the air
Reaching to the clouds
Pushing through them
Bursting into the sunny world above
Forgetting worries left below
Mind free to roam in the azure light
Trolley filling the aisle
Neighbour on my left sleeping
Happy dreams hopefully
Plane has levelled
Business as usual.
