news you would forget
facebook is the news bulletin board
a friend's wedding
congratulations are in order
one illness sentence
condolences to bring succour
there, messages sent
within two minutes
it's too easy to pass
to the next news item
no time to pick up the phone
too hard to visit the sick
any news is swiftly acknowledged
by a like or share
the fear of missing out
on any trivial news
drives one callousness
despite seeming to care
about unknown friends
but then when you are
on the depth of despair
a like or a share
makes all the difference.
