Inner voices
We all have them
Plural form,
Different pitch,
Once vocalised:
Native one,
Thought lost,
At one time,
High pitched,
Finds silliness attractive,
Inherently laughing
At life mishaps.
Adult one,
Can't hear it anymore
Criticising, judging,
Calculating, driven,
Never resting,
Tiring to listen to.
Current one
Low pitched,
Serious minded,
Dreaming of impossibilities,
A bore really
Can't laugh at itself.
Despite all this
I have to cope with them
Day and night
They offer me no respite!
