Winter is here

Winter brings death with it
It's heavy frosty fingers
Kill silently the old, the sick,
The vulnerable, the sleeping rough
Without mercy winter is kind
To snuff out their feeble light.
How dare they breathe the same air?
How dare they share the same space?
They have fallen on their luck
They gather In groups
In search of safety in numbers
They are an unsightly sight
Disturbing the environment
For business men and politicians
Keep them moving
The state knows better
Winter piles up further loss
To freeze and break their hearts
Out of sight, out of mind
Winter is here
To kill democracy.
